			Welcome to Sunset House A Home For The Dying Celebrates 21 Years 1990 - 2011

	Because we are a not-for-profit home, we rely heavily on the generosity of the community for our funding and our support. Even the smallest gifts make a difference and are greatly appreciated.



		Volunteers: The greatest gift of all is that of one’s self. Sunset House is looking for caring and compassionate people to share some of their time with us as hands-on personal care volunteers. Our volunteers are the heart, soul and strength of our house. It would be virtually impossible to offer our ministry of care to the dying without them. All though we all have different reasons for volunteering, we have one thing in common - a caring nature and the desire to provide support to those facing the end of life. There is always a need for more volunteers. We offer full training and believe you will find this to be a very rewarding experience. 	United Way: We receive some of our financial support via the United Way Annual Drive. We do not receive money through the general fund, but we are a Donor Option Agency. If you would like all or part of your gift to be donated to the Sunset House, please designate #1627 on the form. 		Memorials: Some of our money comes from gifts given in memory of loved ones or friends. Most of our residents or their families will choose to give their memorial gifts to the house to help us to provide care for our future residents. Many in the community choose to help give memorials knowing what a valuable gift this home is to our community. Please feel free to print the attached form to send with your gift: Memorial Form


	Grants: We also submit grant proposals to groups which offer money for uses appropriate for the Sunset House. This is an ongoing process. If you know of a group which offers funds to groups such as ours, we appreciate you sharing this information with us.




		Wills: We believe the future of the Sunset House will rely on the wisdom of those who have the vision to provide us with financial long term security by designating larger gifts through wills.



	Donate: Your car, truck, boat, RV or motorhome to Sunset House. Your charity receives the net proceeds after the auction and you may qualify for a tax deduction. Please contact: Insurance Auto Auction 522 Trolley Boulevard Rochester, NY 14606 TEL: 585-426-5420


	We are a 501(c)(3) not for profit corporation and donations are tax deductible as provided by law, for income, gift and estate tax purposes. Donations should be made to “Sunset House, Inc.”
